Getting Started
Please give our office a call to let us know what you have in mind for your home renovation project. If we are a good fit, we will schedule a Free Consultation. If not, we can refer you to someone who can help you.
Design Services
If your project requires our design services, we will prepare a Design Agreement outlining the scope, fees and timeline for the design process. You will meet with our designer, they will begin working on your floor plans, presenting you with several initial options. With your feedback, the drawings will be further defined as needed to be sure you are completely satisfied. Throughout the design process you will be able to see our daily notes, proposed drawings, plans and photographs on your personal online portal.
Once the design of your home is finalized, we hold a trade meeting. This meeting includes everyone who will play a role in the project’s successful completion, such as Architects, Engineers, Interior Designer, Electricians, Plumbers and Air Conditioning professionals.
Once complete, Divine Renovation will prepare a detailed quotation for your review.
Build Service
Now is time to submit the plans to the City Planning and Development Department. Divine Renovation is responsible for safely preparing your home for construction, obtaining relevant building permits and scheduling the construction timeline.
Divine Renovation will actively update your personalized Online Portal with daily logs, photos of job site and questions or comments.
Ongoing Relationships
After your project is complete, Divine Renovation will check in with you periodically to be sure your new space is problem-free. We are always available to answer your questions and address any concerns you may have.
Benefits of Design Build:
Here are five key advantages to using the design/build method of construction over the classic design-bid-build method.
Single source of accountability – The design/build approach provides a single source for your entire project. In the classic design-bid-build method the owner must: Select an architect/designer, finalize the design, bid the project, select a contractor, and then act as an intermediary. The design-build method fosters teamwork and lends itself to cooperation. The relationship built during the design phase helps to ensure that the stage is set for a successful construction project.
Budget management – Discussing budget during the design phase (not waiting until the bids come in) helps to keep the projects within a realistic budget. Communicating the cost implications of design decisions ensures that the owner plays a key role in arriving at the final project price. Once the scope of work has been finalized, the project costs are clearly defined and controlled by the design/build firm.
Enhanced communication – Specific design and construction details are being developed throughout the entire process and the focus stays on owner “value”. The communication benefits of working with a design professional and a construction expert at the same time ensures that potential problems are discovered before the project starts.
Faster project completion – Design build projects can be completed in a shorter amount of time because: Bid time is reduced, scheduling for the project can begin before design is finalized, potential construction problems are uncovered early, and enhanced communication keeps everything moving.
Quality Control – The design build method helps to remove ambiguity that may arise in material and construction specifications. Since the designer, engineer and builder are from the same firm, the focus remains on protecting the client’s interest.
Because of its inherent flexibility, design/build lends itself well to a variety of project types. By combining design services and construction experience onto one team, the homeowner realizes the benefits of “one stop shopping” at its best.
